Burner Safety

Tea-light or electric burners can be used. Tea-light burners provide a much stronger throw but electric burners are a lot safer as no naked flames are used.

Only use with a good quality tea-light, a 4 hour burn tea light is recommended.

Ensure you remove any plastic packaging from wax melts before use.

We recommend you use tea-light burners with a height of 10-12 cm. There must be at least 6.5cm of space above the flame within the wax melt burner.

Ensure the tea-light burner is well ventilated. Burners that have more than one hole are generally safely.

Do not overfill the tea-light burner initially as the wax will spill over.

Keep foreign objects out of the wax pool.

Wax melts contain dye, avoid contact with fabrics as melted wax may cause staining.

Do not transport a burner while in use as melted wax can spill and cause burns.

Take care extinguishing your tea-lights.

Ensure you extinguish the tea-light of the burner before you go to sleep.

Do not add water or an other substance.

Wax melts will eventually lose it's scent and then the wax melt should be discarded.

How to use a burner

  • Place the wax melt burner on a level, flat, cool, heat-resistant surface away from draughts, other heat sources and flammable objects. If used on a non-heat resistant surface damage may occur if the wax melt burner is used without a protective plate, tray or similar product.

  • Position the wax melt segment on the top bowl of the burner.

  • Insert a tea-light in the bottom base of the wax melt burner.

  • Allow the heat of the tea-light to melt the wax and fragrance will release into the room. The wax melt burner will become hot while in use, do not touch while in use, heated wax can cause burns. Allow the burner to cool completely before touching or moving.

  • Do not allow the pool of wax to completely evaporate so the top bowl becomes dry whilst a tea-light is still lit. This could cause the wax melt burner to scorch and (or) smoke.

  • If wax remains in the bowl after use and you wish to remove the wax, wait until the wax cools and is almost hard. Then pop out into a cloth or tissue, wipe out the bowl and discard.

  • Let the wax melt burner completely cool before re-use.

Discarding your wax

The best way I have found is to light a tea light and after a few seconds it will warm the bottom of the wax enough to push out of the burner bowl and then wipe clean.

You can put your burner in the freezer for 10-15 mins and then the wax will easily pop out. If using the Freezer to remove wax, remember to allow your burner to return to room temperature before using again. Otherwise the burner may crack from the heat of the tea light.

For glass burner BOWLS, run under hot water and then push the wax out.

Take care not to damage the glass or ceramic.

Avoid use of metal or sharp objects.

Do not use if you notice a crack in the glass.

Avoid contact with eyes and skin, if contact occurs, flush with water. If irritation persists, contact a physician.
